Welcome to my site. My name is Brett Gatlin and I live in Texarkana, Ar.
I prefer to make traditionally styled knives which will perform well, exhibit a great fit and finish, and are pleasing to the eye. I work primarily with simple carbon steels and tool steels. I have tested extensively with each type that I use and am confident in their abilities.
I take a structured approach to knifemaking, and all steps in the process are well thought out prior to execution. Attention to detail is very important, and while no knife is perfect, it is certainly the goal.
I am a member of the American Bladesmith Society and the Arkansas Knifemaker's Association.
As a part time maker, I produce 10-15 pieces annually aside from show pieces. If you are interested in my work, or just want to talk knives, feel free to contact me. Thank you for your interest.
